As noted in our
mission statement, Cool Strategies encourages organizations to
reach their goals through "improved strategic planning." We
desire to see our clients attain world-class results by exhibiting recognized
"best practice" behaviors, day in and day out. This is best
explained in an article we wrote on how to create a "Strategic
Agenda" for your organization.
We also support
improved decision-making throughout the organization. Decision-making
impacts:
- Balancing tactical
versus strategic demands
- Making incisive
hiring and firing decisions
- Immediately resolving
issues versus allowing them to effectively simmer
- Building new
competence versus leveraging current capabilities
Many others could
be mentioned. Suffice to say the key to building long-term organizational
success and creating lasting change comes from building and supporting
the capacity and competencies of those leading the organization, and
fundamentally that begins by improving the decisions they make.
In short, we believe
being prepared for the journey is as important as the destination.
Vision
If Cool Strategies'
mission gives us direction and focus for our work, our vision drives
our passion. That passion, succinctly stated, is embedded in a desire
to impact the strategic thinking of one thousand organizations in a
single year through highly focused consultations, speaking engagements,
and written materials.
We won't get there
by overstaying our welcome. Our challenge lies in finding ways to bring
understanding to your situation without using traditional, time-consuming
methods. We must get in, leverage your time and effort wisely, and then
get out of your way.
That doesn't mean
we don't care about you, or that our work is simply a numbers game!
Indeed, our business model and approach is in response to what we believe
you want and need from us: strategic focus, objective perspective, clarity
and direction, decision support. But when it comes to actually following
through on the decisions and plans you've made, many clients want to
manage that process themselves.
Impacting 1,000
organizations will only happen by being valuable in one, and then another,
and another. So we flex, and consistently look for ways to be effective.
. .however you choose to engage us. That leaves the structure of our
interaction entirely up to you.
Our guess is . .
. that's exactly where you want it.
